Setup Report Development Environment

For report developments following environments have been set up.
  • IFS Extended Server Set Up
  • IFS RACE Print Server Set Up
  • Crystal Report Installation to Support IFS reports

IFS Extended Server Set Up

In order to run reports in IFS there should be an extended server. In this case it is JBOSS server which acts as the extended server. This has been illustrated using following diagram. System administrator has to start this prior to run reports.

IFS RACE Print Server Set Up

In order to preview and print reports, this print server has to be set up. Following diagram shows print server as service where administrator can start by RMB option.



Crystal Report Installation

For report layout design Crystal Reports have been used.IFS reporting tools supports Crystal reports as a third party application. For internal use I had to install seperate version of Crystal Report software.



Report Files (RDF)

These RDF files are used to write report logic in IFS applications.These files have been created using IFS Design tool initially and after that report logic has been completed according to requirements.Two reports have been developed to view weekly and monthly forecast details.In order to store data I had to create two tables using CRE files. Following diagram illustrates report files which have been created.


Report Layout Design

Report layouts have been designed using Crystal Reports to provide flexibility. Following diagram shows sample layout developed for Monthly forecast report.

RDF files have been deployed using  IFS Admin tool as indicated in below diagram.

Overview-Frim Orders

Logged user may be able to view Purchase Orders under corresponding Supplier code as shown in below screen-shot. Also user can delete order history through this screen as well. User can query by Supplier or Due date range.

               
After Deletion of a PO from History, user can only view existing orders as illustrated in below diagram.

                                          

Overview - Forecast

Search/Query by Supplier , Forecast Type and Due Date functionalities have been implemented. In addition to that "Delete" option also there. Once user has used forecasting functionality he/she will be able to view forecasting history data through this screen. Following diagram shows implemented funtionality areas.

                                 
Once entire Forecasting functionality and reports are completed user will be able to see history data. Currently I have been working on Forecasting functionality and reports.

View-Message/Notices

Logged user can view messages which have come through WEBEDI functionality. Search facility according to different search criteria has been completed.User can monitor entire message and notices through this screen. Also user can delete message and notices as well.

Purchase Order Modifications

Following diagram shows a sample Purchase Order (PO) in IFS. Key data fields such as supplier, part number delivery date have been highlighted in below diagram.


Test Date Used: Supplier in PO is 29-002, Part Number is 29-320, Wanted Delivery Date is 2012-10-05
Note: WebEDI User ID related to supplier 29-002 is 29-002-12 (WebeDI User ID = SupplierCode + id). Only this user can view Purchase Orders which comes from supplier 29-002.

I have completed following functionalities under purchase order modification functionality.
  • Query options to view purchase order line details.System provides several query criterias such as by order number, part number, delivery date range, shipped status and invoice number.
          Following section describes query functionality with test data.
          User Id = 29-002-12 is of type normal user. After logging from this user and query by PO.
          Then click "Search" button and system will show PO details as illustrated in below diagram.

  • Clear options to clear all query data and continue. By pressing clear button user can clear all existing data in header section. System will show empty fileds for each column as below.

When user click link provided in PO line he/she can view PO details and perform either "Change Due Date" or "Split PO Line" operations.



Change Due Date

User can change delivery date using this functionality.After clicking update button new delivery date field will be updated in IFS Purchase Order line table.

When Query in IFS Applications ( Distribution) user can view that delivery date has been updated to newly entered date.

                                 

Purchase Order Line -History

User can view Purchase Order Line history through Distribution and further identify changes as illustrated in below diagram.
Note: Through WEBEDI , IFS Purchase Order history also updates.

                                      

Purchase Order - Split PO Lines

When user clicks Split option, system will prompt to enter order quantity under same line number with a different release number as shown in below diagram.


After updating, a new line will be created in Purchase Order line tab with a new release number. This has been shown in following diagram.
                                    

Apart from that system will maintain separate columns for EDI split PO tracking in Purchase Order line table.

PO Line History - Splitted Details

User can view splitted PO details via History tables as well.Changes done for PO lines will be recorded in line history.

                                      

Shipment Related Functions

Print Pick List funtionality was completed under Shipment changes.When user selects tick box in line section, print option will be enabled.

                                    

Pick List Report

 User can print Pick List report and save it as PDF file.

                                        

Label Report        

This is also similar to above mentioned report where user can print tags for each part and save entire tag file as a PDF file.

This provides user to create Delivery Note and then print Delivery Note (Report). Following diagrams illustrates the print delivery note process.
When user clicks tick box which is in PO Line section, print buttons will be enabled.

When user clicks "Create D/N" button, following screen will appear. Then user can print "Delivery Note".

    Message Screens

    Users can send EDI messages and e-mails to suppliers using this screen.
    User can select relevant supplier by clicking "To" button. User can view all suppliers as illustrated in below diagram.
    After click "Send" button system will send message to Web EDI and e-mail to user to check on Web EDI.
    I have completed send message part and working on e-mail generation section.

    User can query for Purchase Order and view line details. User can see only supplier that is defined in Maintain user. By clicking Purchase Order number user can view line details.
    User will be able to perform "Change Due Date" and "PO Split Line" through this screen depending on access rights. [ Access right ='W' user may be able to perform those operations]

    Purchase Order Status

    User can change Purchase Order status through this screen.

    Main Screen

    This screen provides all the links to system functionalities as illustrated in below diagram.Accessing each system functionality depends on user access rights.
                                     

    Administrator

    Admin user can access all system functionalities including system data for web EDI.

    Normal Users

    Normal users can be of different categories such as Suppliers,Users from customers, etc.These users may or may not be able to access certain functionalities depending on access rights. For example Supplier users can not perform system data functionalities.

    System Data Screen

    Administrator has the access to system data screen. This provides following functionalities.
    • Access Group management
    • Delete Old Data
    • Maintain Users
    • Create System Parameters

    Access Groups

    Admin user can search by access group and view available access groups in the system. He can add new access groups as well. Apart from that admin can delete existing access groups as well.

    Delete Old Data

    Admin can delete old data in the system.There are four criterias provided when deleting data as illustrated in below screen. A warning message has been given for the user.


    Maintain Users

    Admin can view existing users under several search criterias as given below. After viewing, he can add new users to the system.Deletion of old users is also possible.

                                       

     

    System Parameters    

    This functionality is used to set system parameters for message passing like sending mail to other users.
